Jeff Tuttle will appear on the front cover of Recovery Solutions Magazine's and will be the feature story in the 2007 Summer issue that will be available May 7, 2007. I am a person in long-term recovery from drug dependence (opiates). I am also a entertainer (singer/songwriter) that has dedicated my life to try to remove the stigma associated with "the disease of addiction" and to show that people can and do recovery and can lead a positive and productive life and can be a contributing member of there community and society. Monroe native Jeff Tuttle has been nominated for and is now a finalist for a Detroit Music Award in the "Outstanding Country Recording" category. The winner's will be announced Friday April 20, 2007 during the Detroit Music Award Show at the State Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. Producer Larry Butler when informed of Jeff's nomination had this to say; "I am very proud to see Jeff in the company of the heavyweight's nominated for these awards!" "He is right where he deserves to be," added Butler "Jeff is already a winner." "Don't be surprised to see Jeff and his CD nominated for more Awards" "Being nominated by The Motor City Music Foundation and the Detroit Music Awards is a honor in it's self." "And to be recognized by professionals from all genres of music is just overwhelming" added Jeff. Monroe Native Jeff Tuttle has been nominated for and is now a finalist for a Detroit Music Award in the "Outstanding Country Recording" for his new CD, Livin' Like A Millionaire (ain't got a dime). Jeff's CD was recorded in Nashville, TN and produced by Grammy Award winning producer Larry Butler (Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Wayne Newton, Ray Charles) and Grammy Award winning producer Terry Shelton (Billy Ray Cyrus) and Steve Thomas (Jesse McReynolds, Ronnie Bowman). The Detroit Music Awards are similar to the Grammy Awards presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Award winners are determined by local musicians and music industry professionals in southeast Michigan, and presented in ten music genres; Folk/Acoustic, Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Country, Classical, Rock/Pop, R&B/Hip-Hop, Electronic and World. The DMA is the only local music awards in the nation to be presented by a not-for -profit organization. Voting is accomplished entirely via the Internet. Previous DMA events have featured electrifying performances and guest appearances by some of Detroit's most glittering music legends: Was (Not Was), Eminem with D12, The Clark Sisters, Kid Rock, Martha Reeves, Smokey Robinson, Bob Seger, Glen Frey, The Miracles, Grand Funk Railroad, George Clinton and Parliament, and Ted Nugent, among many others. The MCMF was chartered in 1988 by a distinguished group of Detroit music and media professionals. The fledgling group held its first award show in 1992 at Detroit's Music Hall, and moved to the State Theatre, its present location, in 1993. In 1998, the organization merged with the Metro Times-sponsored Detroit Music Awards. Now, the Motor City Music Foundation is a single entity presenting the Detroit Music Awards each spring. In 2005, the ceremony was the opening event for the debut of the Motor City Music Conference (MC2). Jeff has performed on some of the biggest stages in the Detroit area including, The Michigan State Fair, Joe Louis Arena, The Palace of Auburn Hills, The Detroit Downtown Hoe-down, The Hot Country Jam, Brownstown, MI., Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights, The Plymouth Music Festival, Plymouth, MI.
